Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south across the gulf. No hazards on the direct approach from Saint-Tropez. Keep clear of the marked swimming areas along the beaches in summer. Holding on sand is generally good. Exposed to southerly and south-easterly winds; shift to Port de Sainte-Maxime or Saint-Tropez when the mistral kicks up a southern swell.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Port de Sainte-Maxime lies 0.6 nm NE with water, fuel and visitor berths. All shops, restaurants and a supermarket are along the Promenade Aymeric Simon-Lorière, within 300 m of the beach landing.
Ashore
Landing by tender on the sandy beach in front of the town. Tuesday and Thursday market on place du Marché at 400 m. Tour Carrée museum of local traditions at 350 m. Coastal path toward la Nartelle beach east of town, about 2 km along the shore.
