Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east across the gulf, keeping clear of the marked swim zones inshore. Sand and weed bottom in 3 to 6 metres. Exposed to E and SE, the prevailing summer breeze that piles up chop in the afternoon. Shelter from W and NW mistral.
Practical
Water point ashore at Port-Grimaud. No services on the anchorage itself. Fuel and full facilities at Port-Grimaud marina, 0.3 NM SW, or at the Marines de Cogolin, 0.6 NM south.
Ashore
Port-Grimaud, the lakeside town designed by architect François Spoerry from 1966, is accessible by tender through the main channel. Medieval village of Grimaud with its castle ruins is 4 km inland, reachable by bus from the roundabout at Port-Grimaud entrance.
