Approach and anchoring
Approach by day from the centre of the gulf. Sheltered from N, NW, W and SW; fully open to E and SE swell from the Ligurian Sea. Good holding on sand, avoid Posidonia seagrass patches which are protected and prohibited for anchoring under Prefectoral decree.
Practical
No services on the anchorage itself. Port de Sainte-Maxime lies 1.1 NM NE with full marina services, Saint-Tropez 1.5 NM SE for fuel, water and provisioning.
Ashore
Tender ashore to Sainte-Maxime for the Saturday morning market on place du Marché, 400 m from the harbour. Coastal path from Saint-Tropez to plage des Salins, around 4 km. Musée de l'Annonciade on the Saint-Tropez quay, first French post-impressionist museum, holds works by Signac, Matisse and Bonnard.
