Private members' club on Pentwater Lake, Michigan, with 14 fixed-dock berths and direct channel access to Lake Michigan.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Lake Michigan through the Pentwater channel, dredged to 16ft and 150ft wide. The channel runs between two concrete piers, green light on the north pier, light on the south pier skeleton tower. The club lies on the south shore of Pentwater Lake.
Practical
Founded in 1935, the club has 14 fixed-dock berths reserved for members. No transient berths. Visitors should use the public Pentwater Municipal Marina, 0.2 mile to the SE, which keeps 22 transient berths and a fuel pump-out.
History
The Pentwater South Pierhead Light dates from the late nineteenth-century works that stabilised the channel for lumber schooners shipping timber out of the Pentwater Lake mills.
