Guide
Approach and anchoring
Enter the Bay of Morlaix between the Île aux Dames and the Île Noire. Sand bottom off the point, keep clear of the rocky shoals that run east to the Île Louët lighthouse. Sheltered from NW through SW. Exposed to N, NE and E winds.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Port-Diben 3.5 NM NE has a few visitor buoys and a slipway. Port de plaisance de Roscoff-Bloscon 4.2 NM NW provides the nearest full services with fuel and boatyard.
Ashore
Sentier des douaniers GR34 runs along the Pointe de Penn al Lann with views over the Île Louët and the Château du Taureau, a 16th century sea fort built on the order of the Morlaix townsmen after the 1522 English raid and rebuilt by Vauban. Carantec village centre and shops are 1.2 km inland.
