Approach and anchoring

Approach up the Morlaix river from the Baie de Morlaix, keeping to the marked channel past the Tour de Cordonniers beacon. The estuary dries on both sides at low water so stay centred on the chenal. Sheltered from most directions once inside the estuary but tidal streams run hard on the flood and ebb.

Practical

Water available ashore. No marina services at the anchorage itself. Closest harbour is Port Diben 2.9 NM to the north, Morlaix marina 5 NM to the south up the canalised river.

Ashore

The Cairn de Barnenez sits 1 km inland, one of the oldest megalithic monuments in Europe, dated around 4500 BC and open to visitors under CMN management. Coastal footpath GR34 runs along the eastern shore of the estuary. Village shops in Plouezoc'h about 1.5 km uphill from the shore.
