Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north through the Chenal de Tréguier or from the east past Pointe de Primel. Lighthouse on Île Noire built in 1835, still a useful daymark. Bottom sand with patches of weed. Sheltered from NE and E, exposed to the north and west.
Practical
Anchorage only, no buoys or services. Port-Diben to the NE at 3.3 nm has a drying quay and limited supplies. Port de plaisance de Roscoff-Bloscon at 4.5 nm to the NW for fuel, water and a chandlery.
History
The Île Noire lighthouse was commissioned in 1835 as part of the lighting of the Morlaix bay approaches. It appears on a 1997 painting by French artist Tanguy Dohollau of Morlaix seascapes.
