Approach and anchoring

Approach from the sea along the Agriates coast between the Anse de Peraiola and Plage de Saleccia. Sand bottom with patches of posidonia, which is protected: drop on clear sand only. Protected from W, SW and S, open to the E and the N. The Libeccio from the WNW can send swell around the headlands.

Practical

No facilities. Day or fair weather overnight anchorage only. Saint-Florent at 7.9 nm E is the nearest marina with fuel, water and full services, and the private port of Mare e Stagnu at 8.1 nm SE offers additional berthing.

Ashore

The Paillers de Ghignu are restored shepherds' stone huts maintained by the Conservatoire du Littoral, which owns the 5 500 hectares of the Agriates coastal estate. The coastal path links Ghignu to Saleccia beach in about an hour on foot and continues along the whole Agriates shore. No road access for visitors: the site is reached on foot, by 4x4 track from Casta, or by sea.
