Approach and anchoring
Open roadstead between Saint-Florent and l'Île-Rousse, approached from seaward with no off-lying dangers of note. The coast is uninhabited and unlit, so night approach requires care. Libeccio from the west builds a swell that rolls into the bay.
Practical
Forain anchorage on sand, no facilities ashore. Shelter from NE, E, S and SE, exposed to the W and NW. Saint-Florent lies 9.7 NM to the east for a full marina, and l'Île-Rousse 7.5 NM to the SW for a harbour and fuel.
Ashore
The Agriates desert hinterland is a conservatoire du littoral site of around 15,000 hectares with a coastal path linking the beaches of Saleccia and Loto. No road access to the shore here, only the tratturi tracks used by hikers.
