Approach and anchoring
The mooring lies in the north-west corridor of the harbour, along the northernmost east-west channel. Call the Sagamore Yacht Club launch on entering the mouth of the harbour for guidance to a guest buoy.
Practical
Sand bottom, well sheltered from every quarter. Fresh water is available. Oyster Bay Marine Center adjoins the mooring and Sagamore Yacht Club lies 0.1 nm west with guest moorings, launch service, showers and a bar.
History
Theodore Roosevelt kept his home at Sagamore Hill on nearby Cove Neck from 1885 until 1919, and the house served as the Summer White House during his presidency. It is now a National Historic Site open to visitors.
