Town harbour on the south shore of Mount Desert Island in Maine, at the gateway to Acadia National Park, sheltered north of Bear and Sutton islands.

Approach and anchoring
Entry from Eastern Way between Bear Island and the head of Greening Island. The harbour is considered a hurricane hole given the surrounding hills. Town moorings monitor VHF 9, the dock office is on VHF 68 or +1 207 276 5737.
Practical
Town Marina with 16 rental berths and 50 rental moorings, all heavily booked from June to September. Water, ice, pump-out, refuse, restrooms, showers and laundry on site. Mooring fleet managed from a green skiff during daylight hours.
Ashore
Asticou Azalea Garden is 800 metres up the hill at the junction of Routes 3 and 198, open dawn to dusk from May to October, free entry. Beal and Bunker ferry to the Cranberry Isles leaves from the town dock, with a maritime museum in Islesford on Little Cranberry Island. Acadia National Park carriage roads and trails start within 2 km of the harbour.
