Approach and anchoring
Approach through Frenchman Bay between the Porcupine Islands and Bar Island, leaving the bell off Bald Porcupine to starboard. Call the harbourmaster on VHF 9, 16 or 68 before picking up a mooring. The eastern field is exposed to the northeast, so check the forecast.
Practical
Fifteen rental moorings and eight transient berths at the Municipal Pier with 30, 50 and 100 amp shore power. Reservations through Dockwa. Harbourmaster at +1 207 288 5571.
Ashore
Town centre and Agamont Park five minutes' walk from the pier. Acadia National Park entrance at 3 km, with the carriage road network and the summit road to Cadillac Mountain, the first point on the US East Coast to catch the sunrise from October to early March. Whale-watch boats and the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Co. operate from the pier May to October.
