Practical
Around 228 wet berths taking craft from day boats up to vessels of 300 feet. The site spans about 16 acres and includes a hotel, three pools, a private beach and on-site dining.
History
The club was built in 1928 as part of developer Carl Fisher's plan for a resort on Long Island's eastern tip. Early members included the Astor, Whitney and Vanderbilt families, and Charles Lindbergh landed his seaplane on the lake as a guest. Fisher lost his fortune in the 1929 stock market crash and the project went into receivership in 1932.
