Approach and anchoring
Enter Lake Montauk from Block Island Sound through the jettied inlet, then head south. The federal channel carries 12 feet; a shoal northeast of Star Island shifts and narrows it. The marina lies on the western shore near the Viking ferry fleet. It monitors VHF channel 19 for berth and fuel-berth clearance. Approach depth about 7 feet, dockside about 8 feet.
Practical
About 150 berths on fixed and floating pontoons, with 75 set aside for visitors. ValvTect diesel and petrol at the fuel berth. Shore power 30 and 50 amp, 110 and 220 volt, water, cable TV, Wi-Fi, restrooms, showers and laundry. Chandlery and a full-service shipyard with mechanics on staff.
Ashore
The marina is within walking distance of restaurants and motels around the harbour. Montauk village centre is about 4 km south.
