Approach and anchoring
Approach on sight from the S, coming from the Giens pass or from the Porquerolles channel. Sand bottom on 4 to 8 m, holding good. Open to S, SE and E, tenable with mistral and tramontane from N to W. Reach the Ayguade harbour entrance 0.2 NM NE.
Practical
No services in the anchorage. Port de l'Ayguade at 0.2 NM NE with 335 berths, diesel, water and electricity, managed by the commune of Hyeres. Port Pothuau 1.2 NM NE as an alternative.
Ashore
Plage de l'Ayguade along the shore, supervised in July and August. Parc national de Port-Cros managed marine area starting at the Giens peninsula 3 km W. Shuttle to Porquerolles from La Tour-Fondue 6 km SW.
History
The salt pans of Hyeres worked this coast from the 14th century until 1995, the salt road ran through the Ayguade hamlet to ship salt down to Toulon.
