Approach and anchoring

Manhasset Bay opens off Long Island Sound and gives all-round shelter. The bottom is mud with good holding. Town of North Hempstead moorings are managed by the harbour office on VHF channel 9. There is room to anchor clear of the mooring field.

Practical

Around 20 town moorings are available to visitors, fresh water on offer. A free Port Washington water taxi serves moored boats. The Town Dock has a pump-out station and lies a few blocks from Main Street with shops and provisions.
