Connecticut side: Essex and Hamburg Cove on the Connecticut river, Branford, Milford, Norwalk and its islands, Greenwich. Long Island side: Port Jefferson, Northport, Oyster Bay, Manhasset Bay before Hell Gate. South-westerlies in the afternoon, thunderstorms in summer.
