Marina set behind Tom Point, about halfway down Manhasset Bay at Port Washington on Long Island Sound, New York.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Manhasset Bay opens off the western end of Long Island Sound and gives shelter from most directions. Tom's Point Marina sits in the upper bay, one of the better protected spots. Hail the marina on VHF for berthing.
Practical
Around 130 berths for boats from 17 to 36 feet, with shore power and water at each. About 10 visitor berths. Pump-out, showers and an on-site mechanic for repairs. Port Washington town centre with shops and restaurants lies within walking distance, and the railway to Manhattan is close by.
