Approach and anchoring
The sector lies along the steep southern shore of Porquerolles, between the island cliffs and deep water. Anchoring is banned by préfectoral order to protect the Posidonia meadows and rocky seabed. Approach only for transit, keeping south of the coast.
Practical
No mooring on site. The closest legal anchorages and buoy fields are on the north coast of Porquerolles, about 1.9 nm west. Port Auguier on the mainland at Cap de Brégançon lies 4.6 nm to the north-west.
History
The island and its surrounding waters have been part of the Port-Cros national park since 2012, under an adhesion charter that extended the park created in 1963 on the neighbouring island of Port-Cros.
