Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the open Normand-Breton gulf with careful attention to tidal range, which reaches over 13 metres in this area during spring tides. Strong reversing currents on the ebb and flood. Anchorage exposed to all sectors except NW. Granville harbour lies 7.9 NM SE as the main refuge, La Crouie 11.1 NM NE.
Practical
No facilities on site. This is a fair-weather daytime stop only. Shift to Hérel marina in Granville or head to the Chausey sound for overnight shelter if wind backs into the southerly sectors.
