Guide
Approach and anchoring
The entrance to the Piscataqua is marked by lighthouses on both shores, with land marks leading into Pepperrell Cove. The anchorage lies just west of the mooring field, between the nun buoy and the western shore, off Fort McClary. Holding is good on sand and mud. Sheltered from NW through E, open to the S and SE.
Practical
Pepperrell Cove holds over 200 moorings shared by yachts, motor boats and the local lobster fleet. Some transient moorings are available. Town dock with a general store, post office and public restrooms ashore.
Ashore
Fort McClary State Historic Site stands above the cove at its NW corner, its hexagonal blockhouse dating from before the Civil War. Chauncey Creek lobster pier, a New England seafood shack, sits just to the east.
