Indian Landing Marina
- Type
- Harbour
Small marina on Bayou Castine at Mandeville, on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Reached from Lake Pontchartrain through the mouth of Bayou Castine, just west of Mandeville harbour. The lake holds 12 to 14 ft over most of its area and is shallow throughout. The Causeway bridges carry a fixed clearance of 15 ft, with two bascule spans for taller masts. Bayou Castine narrows as it runs inland past Fontainebleau State Park.
Practical
Older fixed wooden docks with limited facilities. Boaters report no dedicated parking and no shoreside toilets. Better serviced berths are available at neighbouring marinas a short way up the bayou. The town of Mandeville lies within a few minutes by road.
