Approach and anchoring
Entered from Lake Pontchartrain through Bayou Castine, west of Mandeville harbour. The bayou opens onto the open lake, where depths run 12 to 14 ft. Dockside depth at the marina is about 7 ft, and the largest vessel taken is 65 ft.
Practical
48 fixed-dock berths with 30 amp shore power, fresh water, toilets, showers and ice. The marina sits among several others on the bayou, all a short walk from Mandeville's lakefront.
Ashore
The Tammany Trace, a 31-mile paved rail trail, crosses Bayou Castine nearby and runs west into Fontainebleau State Park, 2,800 acres with the brick ruins of an 1829 sugar mill and a lakefront beach and fishing pier. Mandeville's lakefront park and its shops lie a short walk south.
