Deep bay west of Calvi, between the Pointe de la Revellata and the citadel. Used as an alternative to Calvi harbour, with clear water over sand and Posidonia meadows.

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the N or NE after rounding the Revellata light, which stands on the Stareso oceanographic station. Drop on sand in 5 to 10 m, avoiding the protected Posidonia patches visible as dark zones. Sheltered from the S, SW and SE, exposed to tramontane and NW swell. Calvi harbour 1.3 NM E for shelter if the wind shifts.

Ashore

Plage de l'Alga at the head of the bay, small and rocky. Footpath along the cape to the Revellata lighthouse and the Stareso station, run by the University of Liège since 1972. Calvi citadel and shops a 30 minute walk east along the coast.
