Anchorage at the foot of the Revellata cliffs, west of Calvi, on the north-west coast of Corsica.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east along the south side of the Revellata peninsula, keeping off the rocks at the foot of the cliffs. Bottom is rock with patches of Posidonia seagrass, where anchoring is forbidden. Look for a sand patch or pick up a mooring buoy where provided. Open to winds from NE through SE. A ground swell makes it untenable in any easterly weather.
Practical
No facilities. Calvi marina is 1.9 nm east for berths, fuel, water and all services. Port Eugène Ceccaldi at Sant'Ambroggio lies 5.5 nm north-east.
Ashore
Swimming and snorkelling along the cliff wall, which drops vertically into deep water. The Stareso oceanographic station stands above the point to the west. The Notre-Dame de la Serra chapel overlooks the bay from 220 m up, reached by a marked path from Calvi in about an hour.
