Quiet creek anchorage off the ICW in eastern North Carolina, with a mud bottom and shelter from most directions except the west.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
A side creek off the main ICW channel. The mud bottom gives good holding once the anchor is set. The cove is open to the west, so favour the eastern shore for shelter in a westerly. Land facilities are some distance off.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Sea Gate Marina lies 5.5 nautical miles south-west and Free Dock No 2 is 6 nautical miles north-west, both a tender trip too far for routine provisioning.
