Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east, keeping clear of the shoal extending from the Giscle estuary. Depths decrease quickly under 3 m within 200 m of the shore. Holding good on sand. Protection from SE through S to W; exposed to the open gulf from the N and NE, including the prevailing mistral swell.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Water, diesel and full marina services at Marines de Cogolin 0.3 NM W and Port-Grimaud 0.7 NM NW. Dinghy landing possible at the Marines de Cogolin visitor pontoon.
Ashore
Village of Cogolin 2 km inland, known for its pipe-making workshops and the Courrieu bamboo-reed factory supplying oboes and clarinets since 1761. Saint-Tropez is 7 km by road around the gulf.
