Approach and anchoring
The anchorage lies in open water on the Choptank and is exposed from west through south-east. A 6-knot speed limit applies year-round around the municipal yacht basin. Hold off until settled weather before lying overnight here.
Practical
Anchor over mud. Cambridge Yacht Basin is around 0.3 miles to the south, with fresh water, fuel, laundry and bath houses, and the fuel dock open through the season. Downtown Cambridge is within walking distance of the basin.
Ashore
Cambridge has a walkable downtown reached on foot from the yacht basin. The Choptank River draws ospreys and bald eagles, with dolphins reported in the lower river.
