Red rock inlet of the Esterel massif on the Corniche d'Or, between Agay and Théoule-sur-Mer, mixed sand and weed bottom, sheltered from N, NE, W and NW winds.

Approach and anchoring

Entry from the south in clear water. The red porphyry cliffs of the Esterel serve as an obvious daytime mark. Anchor in 5 to 10 metres, favour sand patches between the weed beds to protect posidonia. Fully exposed to the easterly swell which builds rapidly in autumn and spring.

Practical

No infrastructure, forain anchoring only. Port d'Agay 2.3 NM west offers water, fuel and full berthing. Port de la Figueirette 2.7 NM northeast is the closest alternative. No landing stage, tender to the small pebble beach.

Ashore

Trail from the beach up to the Cap Roux summit at 452 metres, part of the Esterel forest domain, 4 km with 400 m of elevation gain. The Corniche d'Or road built by the Touring Club de France between 1899 and 1903 runs just above the cove. Hermitage of Saint-Honorat de Cap Roux, a 17th century stone chapel carved into the rock, is 1.5 km on the trail.
