Anchorage on the east coast of Corsica, 2 nm south of Solenzara, between the Tyrrhenian Sea and the foothills of the Bavella massif.
Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east, clear of dangers once past the rocky points. Drop on sand between 5 and 10 m; patches of rock require checking the set on the anchor. Shelter from NW, W and SW. Wide open to the E and SE, untenable in libeccio or easterly swell. Solenzara harbour lies 2 nm north if the wind turns.
Practical
No services on site. Solenzara marina to the north has water, diesel, provisions and a capitainerie on VHF 9. Marina di Fiori is 13.8 nm south.
Ashore
The beach backs onto pine woods typical of the eastern Corsican littoral. The Solenzara river mouth, 2 nm north, opens onto the road up to the Col de Bavella at 1218 m, a classic hiking area with the Aiguilles de Bavella granite needles.
