Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east in settled weather. Sand holding, depths of 3 to 6 m. Shelter from NW, W, SW and S winds, exposed to the E and NE; the libeccio blows off the land but the east swell rolls in. The river mouth silts up and is not navigable for keelboats.
Practical
Port de plaisance de Solenzara 0,4 nm south with visitor berths, water, diesel and a capitainerie on VHF 9. Marina di Fiori 16 nm south for a longer hop.
Ashore
Village of Solenzara along the D168, with supermarket, bakery and restaurants within 500 m of the port. The Bavella needles and the GR20 trailhead at Col de Bavella lie 30 km inland by the D268.
