Approach and anchoring
Approach from the E with the tower as a leading mark on the headland. Drop on sand in the cove north or south of the point depending on wind. Exposed to E and SE swell.
Practical
No services. Marina di Fiori 7.9 NM SW and Quilichi 8.4 NM SW for shelter, fuel and provisions. Nearest village is Sainte-Lucie-de-Porto-Vecchio inland from the beach.
Ashore
Plage de Fautea, a classified sandy beach managed by the Conservatoire du Littoral, runs along the north side of the point. The Tour de Fautea is a restored 16th-century Genoese watchtower open to visitors in season, with a short footpath from the beach.
History
The Tour de Fautea was built in the second half of the 16th century as part of the Genoese coastal watch network protecting Corsica from Barbary raids. It was restored in the 1990s by the Conservatoire du Littoral.
