Guide
Approach and anchoring
The yard sits in the protected head of Bristol Harbor, off the upper east passage of Narragansett Bay, adjacent to Colt State Park. Moorings and dockage are managed alongside the haul-out and repair operation.
Practical
Bristol Marine runs a full-service boatyard with haul-out, winter storage and complete repair and refit work. The harbour gives easy access to cruising grounds on Narragansett Bay.
History
The yard stands on the site of a shipyard worked by the merchant Samuel Wardwell during the Revolutionary War. By the early 1900s it built and repaired wooden boats with a marine railway. Clint Pearson bought it in 1964 for Pearson Yachts, early pioneers of fibreglass construction. The present Bristol Marine was founded in 1998.
