Approach and anchoring
Bristol harbour holds over 800 moorings spread across seven fields adjoining Narragansett Bay. Anchorage abreast the town lies in depths of about 4.5 to 5 metres over a soft mud and sand bottom. Sheltered from north-west through east.
Practical
Visiting yachts can pick up guest moorings through Bristol Yacht Club or the town marina. Water, ice and marine supplies are available, with the harbourmaster reachable on 401 253 1700. Onward routes lead to Cape Cod, the Elizabeth Islands and Long Island Sound.
Ashore
Bristol Yacht Club lies 0.3 nautical miles to the north-west. The town centre, with shops and eating places, fronts the harbour within walking distance of the landing.
