Marina of around 750 berths in the Penfeld mouth at the foot of the Château de Brest, in the heart of the city on the northern shore of the roadstead.

Approach and anchoring
Entrance to the roadstead through the Goulet de Brest between Pointe des Espagnols and Pointe du Portzic, deep water throughout. Marina entrance signalled by red and green lights, maximum draught 6 m. Strong tidal streams in the Goulet, up to 4 knots at springs. VHF 9.
Practical
Around 750 berths on floating pontoons, water and electricity at every berth, diesel on the fuel berth. Capitainerie open seven days a week, showers, laundry and waste pump-out. Tram line A stops 200 m from the quays and reaches the station in ten minutes.
Ashore
Château de Brest housing the Musée national de la Marine rises directly above the marina, entrance 150 m from the pontoons. Rue de Siam and the city centre shops within 500 m. Océanopolis aquarium at Moulin Blanc harbour 2.4 M east by sea or 15 minutes by tram.
History
The Château de Brest was continuously fortified from the Roman castrum through Vauban's 1680s works, and remains the oldest active military fortification in the world still used by the French Navy.
