Approach from Pine Island Sound or Charlotte Harbor and anchor off the village. The bottom is mud. Shelter runs from north-east through south-east, with exposure from the west and the open water to the north.
Practical
Safe Harbor Pineland lies about 3.3 miles east with berths and supplies. The Bokeelia boat ramp and a long fishing pier are at the village. Fuel and further provisioning are around 6.2 miles north at Inn Marina.
Ashore
The Bokeelia fishing pier reaches well out over the sound. Tarpon Lodge, in a 1926 building on Waterfront Drive, serves lunch and dinner. Cayo Costa, known for shelling and beaches, lies about 3 miles offshore.
