Pine Island Sound: Cayo Costa, Sanibel and Boca Grande

Thirty miles of lagoon behind the Gulf of Mexico barrier islands, between Fort Myers and Boca Grande: Pelican Bay in Cayo Costa state park, the most quoted anchorage on the west coast, Cabbage Key and its restaurant, Useppa, Captiva and Sanibel, Matanzas Pass at Fort Myers Beach. Two metres of water, dolphins and manatees, and tropical storms from June to November.
