Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north across the gulf, open water with no offshore dangers. The permitted anchoring zone is a small marked rectangle with room for only a couple of boats, so it fills quickly in season. Holding on sand with patches of posidonia, so drop on clear sand to comply with the anchoring rules of the Agriate marine protected area. Exposed to the libeccio from the W and NW; shelter deteriorates quickly with a building SW to W swell.
Practical
No services on the anchorage itself. Tender ashore to Saint-Florent quay for water, fuel at the town marina, shops and chandlery, landing at the far end of the quay beyond the fuel pump. Port privé Mare E Stagnu lies about 1.1 nm south.
Ashore
Old town of Saint-Florent around the 15th-century Genoese citadel, 10 minutes walk from the town quay. Cathedral of Nebbio, Santa Maria Assunta, in Romanesque Pisan style 1 km inland. Plage de la Roya sand beach 1.5 km west of town.
