Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from seaward with daylight only. The shore is strewn with drying rocks and isolated dangers typical of this granite coast, some uncharted, including a rock about 1.5 m deep halfway into the cove on the south side, so keep a lookout and reference the SHOM 7024 chart for Pianottoli. It is only tenable without W to NW swell. Anchor outside the marine reserve markings, as about half the cove is closed to anchoring, and stones can lie in the swinging circle, with room for only a boat or two. Shelter from N to SE sectors behind the headland; the anchorage opens to the south and south-west.
Practical
No facilities. Drop on sand patches between rock and posidonia, in 3 to 8 metres. Pianottoli-Caldarello harbour lies 2.3 NM east for water, fuel and provisions. Commercial Marina of Bonifacio is 7.6 NM to the SE.
Ashore
The coastline belongs to the Natura 2000 site Plateau de Pianosa et plages de Ventilegne, its shore lined with Tafoni rock formations that make for good walking and running. Sand beaches of Chevanu and Tonnara lie within walking distance along the shore path once landed by tender.
