Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south, keeping clear of the reefs and scattered rocks that extend off the headlands. Anchor on sand in 3 to 6 metres close to the beach, where holding is good in fine sand. An isolated rock and shoal patch in the middle of the cove outcrops and is not shown on all charts, so keep well clear of the centre when working in towards the beach. There is room for only a handful of boats, so arrive early. Gusts can drop off the hills, but the anchorage itself stays calm. The cove is well sheltered from the northern sector and from east to southeast; leave at once if a strong southwester is forecast.
Practical
No services on site. Pianottoli-Caldarello harbour is 2.6 NM to the east for fuel and provisions. Bonifacio marina is 8.3 NM to the southeast.
Ashore
Sand beach of Arbitru reached by a short track through the maquis. The granite chaos of the Bruzzi and Moines protected area runs west along the coast, with a signposted coastal path linking the nearby coves.
