Approach and anchoring

Approach from the south, leaving the Îles Bruzzi and associated rocks well to the east. The bay runs about 2 NM inland, narrow and rock-lined on both sides. The bottom is soft mud and weed and holding is genuinely poor: anchors drag from around force 3 and boats have gone aground here, so keep an anchor watch and do not leave the boat unattended. Yellow buoys have recently been laid through the bay and free anchoring is now restricted. Open to the south sector, well sheltered from N, NE, W and NW.

Practical

Mooring forain on weed bottom, tenue often mediocre on the first try. No services in the bay itself. Nearest harbour is Pianottoli-Caldarello 0,8 NM NE for water, fuel and a small chandlery.

Ashore

Dinghy landing on the small beaches inside the bay, from where a footpath leads up to the nearby tower. The hamlet of Figari is 4 km inland by road. Figari airport lies 3 km to the north, and jets pass low over the bay several times a day.
