Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south along the coast of the Sartenais. The cove takes only a few boats. Anchor on sand in 3 to 8 metres, holding usually good but the sand is fine and can be slow to set, with posidonia at the head of the cove beyond about 6 metres and rocky outcrops either side, so pick a clear sand patch. Protected from N, NE, E and NW and exposed to the libeccio from the SW, which can build quickly and set the anchorage rolling in any westerly.
Practical
Pianottoli-Caldarello harbour is 1,9 miles to the NW, with visitor berths and basic services, and is handy for picking up or dropping crew. A taxi or private hire to Figari airport runs about 50 euros. Port de commerce de Bonifacio is 4,6 miles to the SE. No facilities in the cove itself.
Ashore
The cove opens onto the granite coastline of the Sartenais, within the Natura 2000 zone of the southern Corsican coast, with small beaches to land on and coastal walks from cove to cove through maquis and granite chaos. The beach gathers dead posidonia and a lagoon behind the shore gives off a strong smell in a northerly or north-westerly at dusk.
