Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the east along the Cap Corse shore. Anchor off the yellow buoys in 5 to 6 m on sand, which gives good holding, though there are rocky patches so aim for clear sand. The bottom shoals under 3 m close to the beach, so stay well out. Shelter from SW to NW winds, open to the levante from E to NE, which builds a short steep sea and can keep a boat rolling into the night even in a slight swell.
Practical
Forain anchorage, no facilities. Port Taverna 6.5 NM S is a small harbour with water and a café. Bastia Vieux Port 15.4 NM N offers fuel, full provisioning and the ferry terminal.
Ashore
Tour génoise de San Pellegrino stands on the point, one of dozens built along the Cap Corse shore between 1530 and 1620 as a lookout network against Barbary raids. Hamlet of Sisco is reached by a minor road 2 km inland.
