Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the south-east between the rocky heads of the Pianottoli coast. The bay is small, with an uncharted rock roughly in the middle about 0.5 m below the surface; keep well clear. The bottom is mixed sand, posidonia and mud, and holding is unreliable and poor on rock and mud, so drop only in a clear sand patch, where posidonia is protected by Corsican regulation. A local anchoring restriction may apply, so check the prefecture notice before staying. Shelter from NW through N to W; exposed to SE libeccio swell.
Practical
No services at the anchorage. Port of Pianottoli-Caldarello 1 NM NE for water, fuel and groceries. Commercial marina of Bonifacio 6.3 NM SE for full marina services.
Ashore
Genoese watchtower of Caldarello on the headland. Sentier des Douaniers coastal path links the cove to Pianottoli village in 25 minutes walking.
