Approach and anchoring
Sand bottom with good holding. Best shelter is from W, SW and S. Despite what the charts may suggest, the northerly sectors give little real cover and swell works in from the N and NW, so the anchorage rolls in those conditions and is fully exposed to the E. Port-Joinville lies 2.2 nm to the NW for refuge, Fromentine on the mainland 13 nm NE.
Practical
No services ashore at the anchorage. Landing by tender to the beach, then coastal path east toward Pointe du Châtelet and its memorial cross 2 km away, or west toward Anse des Vieilles.
