Granville, Chausey and the west coast of the Cotentin

11 places · Cotentin

Chausey is an archipelago of 365 islets at low water and 52 at high water, 8 miles off Granville. The Sound has visitor buoys, the main island is explored on foot, and a 14 metre tidal range rewrites the scenery every six hours. Granville's basin opens through a tidal gate. Further north, Carteret, Diélette and Portbail are the sill harbours of the west coast, and Goury the gateway to the Alderney Race.
