Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach on a rising tide over sand. Moor bow and stern to the yellow buoys laid by the Conservatoire du littoral. The water shoals towards the outer buoys, so with a 1.80 m draught reckon on at least 2.50 m at chart datum. The cove is protected from W through S to SE, exposed to the N and NE. Local tidal range exceeds 10 m on springs and the foreshore dries extensively, so stay clear of the rocky edges at the northern and southern points.
Practical
The buoys cost about 10 euros a night, collected on the water by a Conservatoire agent with a card reader. No services ashore. Nearest shelter is Hérel marina at Granville 9.6 NM E, Port Picain 10.9 NM S. Landing by tender is possible at high water only, the beach turning to pebbles at low water.
