Guide

Approach and anchoring

Approach from the north along the rocky coast west of Ile-Rousse. Sand and rock bottom; drop in sand patches and dive the anchor to confirm set. Shelter from W and E, partial from SW, S and SE; fully exposed to N and NE winds, including the tramontane and mistral which funnel along this coast.

Practical

No services at the anchorage. Water, fuel, berths and provisioning 2.1 NM E at Ile-Rousse, and 3.2 NM SW at Port Eugene Ceccaldi in Algajola.

Ashore

Sentier du littoral of the Agriates coast starts 2 km west of the anchorage and runs to the beaches of Ostriconi and Saleccia. Ile-Rousse old town and covered market at 2.1 NM E. Balagne wine route passes through Calvi, Lumio and Algajola villages with AOP Vin de Corse Calvi cellars open to visitors.
