Guide
Approach and anchoring
Approach from the north keeping clear of the rocks off the headland. Anchor on sand patches in 4 to 10 m, avoiding posidonia meadows. Afternoon sea breeze from NW gives good shelter; unsafe in any easterly swell.
Practical
No facilities on site. Ile Rousse 2.3 NM E for the ferry port, marina, shops and the Wednesday morning covered market. Port Eugène Ceccaldi 3 NM SW at Algajola for a smaller pontoon-only harbour.
Ashore
Sentier du littoral along the pink granite coast of the Balagne towards Algajola beach. Ile Rousse old town around Place Paoli, founded by Pascal Paoli in 1758 as a trading port free of Genoese control.
