Small marina at the north-west corner of Lake Union in Seattle, between Gasworks Park and Fremont, at 1331 North Northlake Way.

Guide

Approach and anchoring

From Puget Sound, transit the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks at Ballard and run east along the Ship Canal under the Fremont Bridge. Tillicum sits on the north shore of Lake Union just east of the bridge. Freshwater moorage, no tidal restriction.

Practical

22 covered and open berths for boats from 6 m to 11.5 m. Individual electricity meter per slip, shared fresh water hose bibs along the dock. End-of-dock common space with chairs and lake views. The site started as a fuel berth and boat shop in the late 1950s, then shifted to private moorage.

Ashore

Gasworks Park at 2101 N Northlake Way, 400 m west on the lake shore, kept as a public park on the site of a former coal gasification plant. Fremont neighbourhood shops and restaurants 600 m west across the bridge. Burke-Gilman Trail runs past the marina entrance for cyclists and walkers.
